About Me
Richard D. Hammons, "Rich", is
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Texas State license number 201045. He is a 1997 graduate of Chapman University with a Master of
Arts degree in Psychology with emphasis on Marriage, Family and Child Counseling. He is certified as a Gestalt Therapist,
an Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapist, Group psychotherapist, Gottman Method Therapist and as a Gottman Workshop Leader. He is in training as an EFT Couples Therapist.
Rich has rich and varied life experiences behind him. He has been in recovery circles for more than two decades and has been an active participant and leader in various self-help groups. He has studied Native-American spirituality extensively and trained with several of the leaders of the mytho-poetic movement.
Rich places a lot of emphasis on family and relationships. He is a native of Washington State, is the husband to a wonderful wife, is the father of two very successful children, four very successful stepchildren, and grandfather to two delightful grandchildren.

He has also appeared on KPRC, Channel 2 in regards to the issue of marital infidelity when New York Governor Eliot Spitzer was exposed for having affairs. He has appeared on KTRH AM 740, KPFT FM 90.1 and Oprah Winfrey’s national radio show on XM Radio.
