Two Reasons Why I Am Different

My Space

A lot of planning and consideration has gone into creating the feeling of being at one with nature with all natural tones and the replication of a woodland and streambank environment within the office setting. When you come to visit, you will see and feel that you are in a relaxed, homey, non-clinical environment.

Experience and Caring

I have eleven years of post-graduate work in the field and more than twenty years as a volunteer.

Comments from fellow professionals include:

"Rich Hammons has been a friend and a colleague for six years. He has co-facilitated intensive workshops for treatment of old trauma and we have conducted conjoint marriage counseling. He is very competent and highly ethical and I recommend him without qualification." Donna Bevan-Lee Ph.D (Psychotherapist in private practice for 20 plus years.)

"Rich not only has impeccable professional credentials and a personal history that affords him an experiential understanding of client's issues, but he affects change." Trisha Pearce, ARNP (Psychiatric nurse and chemical dependency counselor in private practice for 20 years.)

"Rich's clinical skills are solid. In his work with children and families, he has assisted some of our hardest to serve multi-problem families. Rich has a balance of being conscientious where his client's needs are concerned, for example, accommodating a parent who has had variable compliance with treatment. Also, Rich has a straight forward approach that will not hesitate to confront an issue that is presenting itself in therapy. He has been a very passionate advocate for his clients." David A. Slagle, M.S. CMFT (Lead Clinician)

My Mission

My mission is to provide clients with the best, most compassionate and caring psychotherapy possible. As I tell every client, my objective is to help them "Maximize Their Joy" (Author unknown). This means that I help clients approach the process of psychotherapy from the emotional, cognitive, physical and spiritual perspectives.
